Projects
Bal vikas project
The Bal Vikas Project is an initiative aimed at empowering and supporting children in their studies and overall personality development. We run educational centers with an attendance of approximately 75 to 80 children everyday except Sunday to learn english, maths, science and value education. Most of the kids Our approach is activity-based learning, where children learn through practical-based approaches, videos, role plays, healthy competitions and informal exams.
We also support in other subjects and arrange various educational programmes for the kids like study tours, recreational activities to improve their skills and qualities. Some of the best experiences have been in visiting IUCAA (The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics), Kothrud blind school for girls, Vidyawani community radio in Savitribai Phule Pune University, among others.
We believe in providing a holistic learning experience to the children, and hence, we conduct Ganapati making workshops, celebrate festivals, and take kids to play in the gardens. We also conduct Bharatanatyam and Kathak workshop for kids once a week. Our focus is on “Krutishil Shikshan” - practical-based learning approach. We also take the students for sports activities like cricket, Kabaddi and provide training of Lathi-Kathi. All these activities ensure holistic development with hands-on practical experience.
The project aims to provide a conducive learning environment for children to grow and develop into responsible individuals. We believe that through our efforts, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and empower them to achieve their dreams.
arogya prayas project
Arogya Prayas Project, an initiative under Abhinav Vikas Foundation, focuses on various health and nutrition related programs. We regularly organize health check-up camps for our students which include dental, eye, and body check-ups. Our foundation also follows up on treatment for any issues detected during the check-up camps.
Our goal is to promote health and hygiene among children, their parents, and the wider community. As part of this effort, we educate children and their families about good habits, and the 6 steps of proper hand washing. We believe that by raising awareness about these important practices, we can help prevent the spread of diseases and promote better health outcomes. We conduct trainings on reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, children growth and metabolism and malnutrition.
These camps provided a valuable opportunity for individuals to get screened and detect any underlying health issues. In addition, children in the community benefited from these health check-up camps, allowing us to identify any potential health concerns and take appropriate action.
We are committed to promoting good nutrition in the community as well. Through our foundation, we celebrated Breastfeeding Week and National Nutrition Week in the local anganwadi. We also collaborated with ICDS anganwadi to promote awareness about these events.
In 2016 and 2017, we implemented a project on malnutrition in the Shastri Nagar and Kelewadi communities. This project aimed to raise awareness about malnutrition and its effects on children. As most parents are not aware that children aged 0-6 years need proper nutrition and the first 1000 days are crucial for healthy brain development and physical growth. We focused on identifying and providing support to SAM, SUW and MAM children in the community. The project utilized an awareness-based approach, and we were able to increase the weight of malnourished children.
samajwata project
Our NGO is dedicated to working with women in the community to empower them and help them solve their problems. One of the ways we do this is by regularly organizing workshops on various topics related to women's rights, health, and government schemes that can benefit them.
Through these workshops, we provide women with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate their daily lives more effectively. We also help them become more aware of their rights and the resources available to them. In addition to organizing workshops, we also arrange counseling sessions for those who need it, and provide support and guidance on a variety of issues, including domestic violence, job search, and other challenges that women may face.
Recently, we have taken steps to help our clients become more self-sufficient. For example, we provided a sewing machine to one of our clients who expressed an interest in learning how to sew. This enabled her to earn a living and become more financially independent.
We also care about the health and well-being of our clients. To this end, we organized a hemoglobin check-up camp, which helped many of our clients better understand their health needs and take steps to improve their overall health. Like for clients who are in need of additional support, we provide ration kits once every three months. This helps ensure that families have access to essential food items and can manage their basic needs.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to support our clients by providing them with the resources they need to maintain their livelihoods. We understand that this has been a challenging time for many families, and we are committed to doing our part to help them get through it.
We believe that by working together, we can create a brighter future for the women in our community.
community development project
Community development is an important focus for us. We organize various activities that benefit the community and help address their needs.
One such initiative is the Pan Card document camp, which we organized for the community. This provided an opportunity for members of the community to obtain important documentation needed for various financial transactions. We also distribute grains, rice, sugar, and oil to needy families in the community. This support helps to ensure that vulnerable families have access to essential food items.
Our foundation is committed to raising awareness about important community issues. To this end, we organized a rally to raise awareness about noise pollution in the community. We also support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning up the community, ensuring a cleaner and healthier living environment for all.
In addition, we organized a rally on the issues of Save Water, Don't Spit, and Hygiene. These campaigns are aimed at promoting awareness of the importance of responsible behavior and healthy habits in the community for a more sustainable future.
